It will not often be deemed the most fun game in the world of gaming, but keno has massive amounts of devout fans. As well it should! It’s a consistently exciting lottery-ish game that’s simple to learn, abundantly available in lots of different formats, and one that will yield millions for gamblers who learn its uncounted subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules here.

When defining keno to amateurs, some wagering experts compare it to bingo. This is at least tolerably correct, in that both games are generally numerical. However, to take that comparison too far is likely to be to devalue the endless unique characteristics that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno gamblers have the ability to select the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is furnished with an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to select as many (or as few) numbers as he or she needs. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your chosen numbers with a good old#2 pencil like you had when you were in school.

After you’ve marked your numbers, take the card back to the nice person at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) lucrative piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will collect precisely $.00 for your winning card.

And there you have strategy numero uno: always make sure to keep your keno receipt. Let us advance to something a tiny bit more complicated, ok?

After you’ve picked out your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and see the action take place on the monitor. This is where the winning numbers show up for us. If you marked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Make sure not to take too much time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, since a new drawing will probably get going within not too many minutes.

Strategy number 2: always be sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you can not trust yourself to make that five-minute margin each and every time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty slips. When the maximum number of keno games (fitting the amount of tickets) is played out, you will then be able to get off your numb bum and go collect your winnings.

Still another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno card, which commonly allows you make number picks for 30 games or more. Golly, you can take a Swedish massage and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" game tickets are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you are aware of several necessary techniques for winning keno. If you are an accomplished user, they might seem stupidly obvious. Still, it will not hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a novice player, every bit of direction will help make your keno experience more fun.
