It won’t commonly be deemed the most lucrative game in the realm of wagering, but keno has tons of steadfast enthusiasts. And why not? It’s a consistently exciting lottery-type game that’s simple to master, readily available in tons of alternate variations, and one that might yield mega-dollars for people who master its limitless subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules here.

When explaining keno to amateurs, some betting experts compare it to the lottery. This is at least nearly apt, in that each game is basically numerical. But to take that comparison too far can be to discount the innumerable unique aspect that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno users have the freedom to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the player is furnished with an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as he desires. And it doesn’t take a genius to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your chosen numbers with a normalpen like you had when you were in grade 3.

After you’ve marked your numbers, carry the keno card back to the girl at the keno booth. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and would like to help out, without a winning receipt in hand, you will win exactly $.00 for your winning card.

OK, so there you have strategy numero uno: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let us move to something a little more useful, yes?

After you’ve picked your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and observe the action happen on the video monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown for us. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Make sure not to dilly dally, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get back to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, as a new round of keno will almost certainly start up within five minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to beat that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty cards. When the max amount of games (fitting the amount of tickets) is played out, you may then get off your lazy back side and go retrieve your winnings.

Still another option is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which commonly allows you make number picks for thirty keno rounds or more. Hell, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

And now you are aware of several indispensable schemes for winning keno. If you are an accomplished gambler, they might seem incredibly obvious. However, it doesn’t hurt to study up on the basics, and if you are a novice player, every little bit of direction will help make your keno experience more agreeable.
