The History of Keno

Keno was introduced in 200 BC by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a finance resource for his declining army. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a war, and after a bit of time seemed to be looking at a country wide shortage of food with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to come up with a quick fix for the financial calamity and to produce income for his army. He, as it follows designed the game we now know as keno and it was a fantastic success.

Keno was well-known as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from larger locations to the lesser towns. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 19th century by Chinese expatriates who migrated to the States to jobs. In those times, Keno was played with one hundred and twenty numbers.
