Keno’s History

Keno was created in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized keno as a way to finance his declining army. The city of Cheung was waging a war, and after a bit of war time seemed to be facing national shortage of food with the excessive drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a quick response for the economic disaster and to acquire income for his military. He thusly developed the game we now know as keno and it was a fantastic success.

Keno once was known as the White Pigeon Game, seeing as the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from larger locations to the lesser villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 19th century by Chinese expatriates who migrated to the States to jobs. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is most often gambled on with eighty numbers in almost all of American land based casinos as well as net casinos. Keno is largely played today as a result of the laid back nature of betting the game and the simple reality that there are no skills needed to enjoy Keno. Despite the reality that the chances of succeeding are appalling, there is constantly the possibility that you could hit quite big with very little gambling investment.

Keno is enjoyed with eighty numbers and 20 numbers are drawn each round. Enthusiasts of Keno can pick from 2 to 10 numbers and gamble on them, whatever amount they want to. The payout of Keno is according to the bets made and the matching of numbers.

Keno has grown in universal appeal in the United States since the end of the 1800’s when the Chinese letters were replaced with , American numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the legalization of gambling in Nevada State in 1931. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the notion that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to come in. When a law passed that taxed off track betting, Nevada casinos swiftly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
