It will not often be deemed the best game in the realm of betting, but keno has massive amounts of passionate followers. And so it should! It’s a always entertaining lotto-type game that’s easy to play, readily available in tons of assorted formats, and one that can pay out millions for gamblers who master its limitless subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the basics for now.

When defining keno to novices, some gambling pros compare it to bingo. This is at least in part correct, in that each game is generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far can be to belittle the countless unique aspect that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno players have the power to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the player is granted an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she feels they need. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your picked numbers with a normalball point pen like you had when you were in school.

After you’ve checked your numbers, carry the keno card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The person will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Make sure no to lose this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning ticket on you, you will be given precisely $.00 for your efforts.

OK, so there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let’s move to something a little bit more complicated, yes?

Now that you’ve picked your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and watch the action unfold on a big video monitor. That’s where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you’ve got winners, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to take too much time, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You want to get up to the keno stand to collect your winnings, and then a new keno game will certainly start within not too many minutes.

Strategy number 2: always go back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to beat that 5 minute margin each time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your desired numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty cards. When the max amount of keno games (the same as the number of tickets) is played out, you will then be able to get off your numb bum and go get your winnings.

Still another option is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which commonly allows you make number selection for thirty games or more. Hell, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to fret about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after purchase!

So now you have learned a couple of needed techniques for winning keno. If you are an adept keno player, they may appear to be quite obvious. However, it won’t hurt to study up on the basics, and if you are a novice gambler, every little bit of information will help make your keno gambling more fun.
