It won’t commonly be deemed the best game in the universe of gambling, but keno has loads of passionate admirers. As well it should! It’s a consistently entertaining lotto-type game that’s a breeze to play, abundantly available in many assorted variations, and one that may yield millions of dollars for gamblers who master its heaps of subtle rules. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules for now.

When explaining keno to amateurs, some gaming experts compare it to bingo. This is at least tolerably apt, in that both games are basically numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far might be to minimize the great many unique characteristics that make keno so entertaining. Unlike bingo, keno enthusiasts have the ability to pick the numbers for each and every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of 80 numbers, but the player is granted an additional level of personal responsibility by being able to pick as many (or as few) numbers as he feels they need. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your picked numbers with a every day oldball point pen like you had when you were in school.

After you’ve marked your numbers, take your keno card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The nice person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning slip with you, you will get precisely $.00 for your actions.

Now there you have strategy numero uno: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move to something a bit more useful, shall we?

After you’ve checked off your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and observe the action happen on the video monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown for us. If you have winners, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You must get back to the keno booth to get your winnings, and a new drawing will certainly begin within a few minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make it back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you do not trust yourself to beat that 5 minute margin every time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from two to twenty slips. When the max amount of rounds (matching the amount of tickets) is finished, you may then get off your numb bum and go get your winnings.

Another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which normally lets you make number selection for thirty games or more. Golly, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

And now you are aware of several essential techniques for winning keno. If you are a knowledgeable user, they may seem very obvious. Still, it will never hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a new keno player, every bit of advice will help make your keno gambling more agreeable.
